Our Favourite Upcycling Ideas For Refreshing Your Home This Spring

With many people stuck at home without much to do, it can be easy to become bored. When you are looking for some entertainment over the coming weeks, a great idea could be to start focusing on home improvement. Whilst you may not be able to get out for DIY materials, upcycling presents you with an opportunity to make, do and mend, just like the generation of the Second World War. In this blog we suggest some of our favourite upcycling ideas for refreshing your home this Spring.

Pallets

If you have got any old pallets lying around, it would be a huge waste to throw them away! You can make fantastic use of pallets to create some really unique furniture options. You can create the base for a sofa or a bed with old pallets. You can paint your pallets to add style and ensure your new piece of furniture can create a real head turning aesthetic in the home.

Creative Plant Pots

If you are the type to spend your spare time gardening, you could introduce a new stylistic element to your garden with some real creative improvisation. One of the largest growing garden trends is the upcycling of old household objects into makeshift plant pots. There are so many household objects that could act as plant pots so if you are planning on discarding that old set of drawers or an old toilet, why not give them a new paint job and fill them with colourful plants.

Garden Cinema

The “Garden Cinema” is an experience that could provide amazing evening entertainment for your household and it is made possible with just a few steps. Before any upcycling, you will need to already own a projector for this to work. If you have a projector that can be easily set up, you can then use an old bedsheet as your screen. This will work best if you are able to tie the corners to a fence. All you will need to complete your cinema experience is your full household, some outdoor seating and plenty of snacks.
