Our Top Tips For Decorating Your Home At Christmas

When you have a home that you love, decorating for Christmas is extra special as it is your opportunity to transform your home into a winter wonderland! In this blog we are going to provide you with our top tips on decorating for Christmas.

Christmas Tree

The tree is always the first thing that is put up in many households and the room is never complete without one. The lights, baubles, tinsel and star on the top is really what brings Christmas into the home.

We advise that you start by putting the lights on your tree first as this is more difficult to do after you have decorated with baubles. Remember to weave the lights under a branch and then over a branch! Using baubles of different shapes and sizes will help to visually balance the tree. Larger baubles should be hung closer to the centre of the tree to give it more depth and the smaller ones closer to the end of the branches.

Lighting

The warm glow from the lights help to keep spirits high when the evenings are dark. Adding fairy lights to your mantlepiece and around your windows makes the surroundings merry and festive. Plus, outside lighting is the perfect way to show that you are Christmas ready!

Intertwining your lights with seasonal items such as garlands or wreaths will help you to light up different items and add more dimension to areas in your home.

When adding lights to your home, we advise that you always check for any burnt lights. Burned-out lights drain out power from the entire lighting string and will mean that the other bulbs will be dimmer.

Christmas Decorations For The Whole House

Decking the halls with Christmas decorations, wreaths, stockings and other festive items will mean your house will soon be ready for the big day. Having items that you can reuse will save you money in the future and it means you can invest in items you love.
